How to gain access to the services offered by the project

DISI email account

If you are about to stay here in Trento for more than a few weeks, most likely you are eligible for getting an email address like

username@disi.unitn.it

In order for the account to be created on your behalf, you have to print, compile and sign a paper form; you will also have to ask your advisor to sign it. You can ask me for help about this issue.

LiquidPub project general account

Most services available in LiquidPub project requires authenticated access: in order to obtain a LiquidPub account, you'll have to send me an email, specifying:

  • Your name and surname
  • Your disi email account (see previous paragraph) if you have one

After getting the account, you'll want to have proper authorization for the various services. By default, you'll be assigned read / write access rights to the wikis, and basic access to the repository and the Trac installation. If you need to perform actions that requires extra privileges, send me a request with some project responsible in Cc, so that I can authorize you.

Once you got a valid account and proper access rights, you can access project services, like:

  • the public wiki ([1])
  • the private wiki ([2])
  • the Subversion repository ([3])
  • the Trac bug-tracking system ([4])

Other services

For all other technical requests regarding projects infrastructure, please contact me for further information.

Network troubleshooting

Hints and tips to solve network-level problems you may face when trying to connect to various services.

VPN

Sometimes you may need to access servers that are inside UniTN private network from outside that network: it's generally not allowed. Also, something analogous happens when you try to connect from sections of the UniTN network which enforce more restrictive access policies (like, in S.Bartolomeo).

A workaround for these problems is to use Virtual Private Networking, in order to connect directly to UniTN internal network even from outside of it. Follow the instructions here (they are in Italian, but screenshots are in English).

Organization, events and meetings

Some recurring events it would be a good idea to participate to.

Informal meetings

Brief expositions of a topic in the area of Software Development. The argument doesn't have to be directly connected with what is being used in the project currently: they are however information about interesting things everyone may be interested in.
